here's an strace showing where its trying to load the fastfiles for custom
maps from:

getcwd("/home/cod5/custom", 255) = 18
open("/home/cod5/custom/zone/english/localized_mp_sps_station.ff", O_RDONLY)
= -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
write(2, "WARNING: Could not find zone \'/h"..., 90WARNING: Could not find
zone '/home/cod5/custom/zone/english/localized_mp_sps_station.ff'
getcwd("/home/cod5/custom", 255) = 18
open("/home/cod5/custom/zone/english/mp_sps_station.ff", O_RDONLY) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
write(2, "WARNING: Could not find zone \'/h"..., 80WARNING: Could not find
zone '/home/cod5/custom/zone/english/mp_sps_station.ff'

there is no mention of usermaps through the whole strace. i don't see how
redirect could be possible without a usermaps directory?
