That sounded better.
I did a modification to suit me.. I think.
Have a look at this, does this look ok? :
http://remote.kb-h.com/cod4/cod4_start_stop.txt
But what do I name this script and where does it go (what folder)?
The folder: PIDFILE=/var/run/cod4/cod4.pid
does not exist, do I make this, or will it be made? Also the same with the
file?
If you would be so kind to make a RPM for CentOS of your Monit I would be
interested in testing that.
Little uncertain on what it does and even how to manage that, but you might
be so kind to explain how to work it?

I use a combination of an init script (utilizing debian's start-stop-daemon)
and monit, a process monitoring utility. I have monit set to start on boot,
and it will start any applications that it is configured to monitor if they
weren't already started.
init script example: http://www.anarchic-x.com/script/cod2-init.txt
monit can be installed via yum or apt-get
start-stop-daemon is available on debian/ubuntu, but I can provide an RPM
for CentOS if anyone needs one.

When you say 'on boot'...
Do you mean when you first start the machine up?

I have tried it, but that does not solve my problem on how to start it at
boot or even automatically restarting it upon crash.
I still have to start the screen session at boot, and I don't have a clue on
how to do so.
Any suggestions? (Reverting to win server is out of the question) J

There are several options.
Using screen isn't a bad idea- have you checked that?

Hi I'm a bit newbie when it comes to nix servers and I really need some
help.
I have been looking all over the net for a tutorial on this subject,
hopefully I have found the right spot.
Anyone got a good tutorial or can help me to get a COD4 or WaW linux server
to start at boot?
I got the server running, but so far in a putty window and I can't have it
running like that.
The server is running on a CentOS box with Webmin, Putty and local access,
no GUI other than the Webmin.
All help would be appreciated..
