[cod] variable save

I've been tweaking all of the configs via RCON over the last few days

So give us a list of the configs and variables you have been tweaking.

Not sure why you are doing it this way to be honest when there are litterally hundreds of variations of pre-made config files out there for a stock ranked COD4 server.

I have a set of CFG's I made back in November -- I can try and find them again if you want them? Everything broken up into groups

I think you guys didn't read the question (no offense).

My default cfg file has like 3 lines in it. I've been tweaking all of the configs via RCON over the last few days. So, if the server restarts, those are all gone, and my default server config loads and I've lost all of my customizations.

One way to get around this is at the console (preferably at the linux shell), run dvarlist. Then either write a script or just use excel to isolate the dvars and their values.

Then that info can be pasted back into your main server config ... so if you have a server restart ... you are good to go.

  Thanks for the responses guys.

    Search for ./COD4_PATH/main/mp_server.cfg

The name of the config file could change to whatever you have set on the command line
By default config files are at main directory, but also it could change to whatever you have set in the command line

In that file change variables as you like, add, remove, etc
That file will be loaded on server start

Oh, sorry, forgot to specify that. I do. Complete root access to the server it's running on.

    Thx

If you don't have access to the command line, config files or a web control panel that allows you to change settings I don't think it's possible

      Hello all -

I'm looking for a way to export all current variable settings. Something like PB's pb_sv_writecfg. But for all of the other configs (for example SD bomb timer, SAB round limits, etc). I have everything setup nice, but I've been doing all the configs via RCON over the last few days. So in the event of a server restart, I'll lose them all.

I found the writecfg command, but that appears to only export player settings.

      Anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks
