[cod] custom maps game types and scripts - where to start?

Hi Guys..,

 

Don't know if this is the right place, so please forgive me if not....
But....

 

I'm interested in programming some mod's, to be specific I've been playing
http://www.before-dawn.co.uk  Zombies server  and think its brill...

 

So want to do something similar.

 

I started looking into the scripting side quite a few months ago, and got
fed up with going round in circles from website to website and not really
getting anywhere...  

 

any pointers to tutorials / manuals would be fantastic - especially for the
custom game types.
