Well one port is for punkbuster, 29999 is for the game, and the other is
for the master list from what I understandx.

Are you running your games on those ports David?

Or are they used for something else?

-A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 20800 -j ACCEPT

-A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 20810 -j ACCEPT

-A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 29999 -j ACCEPT

We just do this.

-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 28960
-j ACCEPT

-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m udp -p udp --dport 28960
-j ACCEPT

I don't actually think you need the tcp entry, but we added it incase
some of the rcon tools available required it.

Andy

Hi,

Is anyone using iptables on their server and running COD4?

I have the following setup and for the purpose of discussion will list
some IPs. (Note these are not the real ones).

ETH0 - 1.1.1.10
ETH0:1 - 1.1.1.11/24
ETH0:2 - 1.1.1.12/24
ETH0:3 - 1.1.1.13/24
ETH0:4 - 1.1.1.14/24
ETH0:5 - 1.1.1.15/24

My rules on the "incoming" interface are in the attachment. My
forwarding rules and outgoing rules are set to "permit any". The problem
is I cannot connect to my COD4 server until I change my incoming rules
to permit any. Then it works. I can then remove the permit any statement
and the server continues to work and be connectable until it is stopped
and started again. Once that happens its impossible to try and connect
again. The rules are far as I can tell look good.

Is there any special feature that needs to be done with iptables for it
to allow COD4 traffic? Has anyone had a similar issue?

Note. I had a search through the list and can't see a similar post.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

George
