+set fs_game "mods/modwarfare"

I could be very wrong here, but I do not think "" quotes should be used.

+set fs_game mods/modwarfare <---- Try it without the quotes

Subject: [cod] [COD4 Linux Server Problem]How to run an unranked server under linux?

Hello, every one. I am a newbie here. Yesterday I setup a COD4 server on my computer, which is running a Ubuntu 7.10 system. The server runs quite well in ranked mode (thanks to the author), but when I try to run it in unranked mode. It doesn't work. I tried using this command:

  ./cod4_lnxded +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg +set fs_game "mods/modwarfare" +map_rotate

and though I would get a running unranked mod server, but the mod didn't run at all. I mean, the server started perfectly and ran smoothly, but it is still a ranked server, the mod won't work. And any change I made, such as disable certain perks, had no effect at all. I checked the console output and found something like "fs_game is write protected", does it mean that mod won't work under Linux? How can I get an unranked COD4 server under linux?

I have spent about 6 hours trying to resolve this problem but still have no idea what to do or what is wrong. Could anybody help me out of this, please?

I'm sorry for my poor English, thank you for your reading.

  Joel
