Personally I enjoy seeing the convos everyone has - Reason being you tend to find out some decent info and or a different perspective on things.

Anyways - Sorry for the disturbance man.

"When did the mailing list turn into a Forum ??"
The very nature of this being a public mailing lists means you're likely to have discussions going on. You only need to setup a few simple rules in Outlook or your mail client to order the messages if you don't want them filling up your inbox...

Simple Logic is best in my mind - But hey who knows.... Maybe some Corp.

Simple you don't tell the windows guys that their patch is ready ;-) problem
	solved!

Both at the same time windows guys wouldn't know any different linux guys
are happy! or am i using to much logic here now!

	Oh so true Jim,

If they would just hold back and release both at the same time - There
	would be no issues.
However you know the windows guys would still be like - WHY NOT JUST
RELEASE OURS NOW Blah blah blah.... LOL

The excuse would be " Why make us wait for Linux guys?"

So no matter what someone is pissed off.

Difference is.... There are more Linux admins then there are Windows.

The funny thing is, with this patch geared more towards server
exploit, you would think they would have released both the Linux and
Windows patch at the same time.

On one hand we should be greatful we got another patch to fix these

	issues.

On the other hand, when will they learn that if they just hold back a
day or two (and not release it over a weekend) everyone would be happy
	all at once.

Actually - The multiplayer aspect of the games makes them a whole
	lot more.

Think about all the things we as gamers do for the companies.

We provide the servers - We convince our other friends and family to
	buy the games.

This is how they make serious money. People like me who convince 75
members of a clan to go out and buy the game because I think it is
	great.

So in all aspects when I am convincing people to go buy a game it is
not because of the Single player - It is because of the Multiplayer.
Single player is cool and all - but in order to game with my friend
I have to play MP -

If they were simply focused on selling a Single Player game - They
	would incorporate COOP.

So I truly believe that MP is a like a whole other department for
them. They still make a killing either way.

I still know people that only bought the game for MP and have never
	tried the Single Player.

They why don't they do it for all their games? I am not so sure that
is the case. I believe that they, just like IW, consider multiplayer
as an "add-on" to a game. They get their revenue from selling single
	player games.

Its in Activision's interests to continue to develop a linux client

Then why do they care about linux binaries at all? If they don't
develop for it, why bother to "QA" the binary? Even a blind man
could see the reason. <rant off>. I know, not a place for the rants,
but every time a patch is released we go through the same old s***.
We run the games and ATVI knows it. They really don't care what we
think, want, or need. We will run them with what they give us.
	Simple as that.

Because from the point of view of IW (and Activision guys who are
for sure MS-paid ^^) linux is not the platform they develop for, and
so they don't support it. It's pretty miraculous that we have linux
binaries for our prefered games, and it's not because of Activision
