Just to check, you've said you have this as your start line:

./cod4_lnxded +set punkbuster 1 +set sv_pure 1 +exec server2.cfg +set
+map_rotate +set ui_maxclients "42" +set net_ip "209.242.12.190" +set
net_port 38960

This is all on one line? I.e. like this:

./cod4_lnxded +set punkbuster 1 +set sv_pure 1 +exec server2.cfg +set 
+map_rotate +set ui_maxclients "42" +set net_ip "209.242.12.190" +set 
net_port 38960

To be double sure, put this in a file, and nano -w the file to make sure 
everything is all on one line.
