Hello again guys,
Just wanted to say thanks a million times, have been sitting with this
problem for the last three days and now i got it to work thanks to Magnus's
help! Thanks alot man!

If the tip from Ronny Schedel doesn't work: remove the savepath folder
(standard /home/user/.callofduty4/ ) and restart the server.
When PB updates it only updates the files in the game folder, not the
other ones. Don't ask me why...
And to answer your other question: the clientversion is defined by the
htm files named lc...htm, wc...htm and mc...htm
