[cod] CoD4 Linux Server Files

Facts and figures are being quoted here with very little ACTUALY facts
on what numbers are etc..

Sure, there may be 6000 Windows servers in the browser list, how many
are local PC's being servers? And just how many have a Windows server
running until the Linux files are released?

I expected this and planned for it. I had a Windows server ready to go
on release day, and another Linux server sat waiting for the binaries.

Just wait and see, the ratio of Windows v Linux will change
dramtically....

Is there any point to making the posts ? Nope, it won't speed to process
and "could" piss others off that are working to make the port. Think
about this. If Ryan gets jack of the comments and decides to say "stuff
it" what will you do then?

Sit back and relax. Install WINE or VMWare and get some use from the box
until they are released.

If we except the "trolling" linux/windows for servers,
and we look just the saling and marketing side...

CoD4 will be a BIG BIG hit...
The windows servs, it's a sign, visible side of iceberg comming...

Take a look of CS servers, 6.000 cod is nothing...
Off course it's just my hope/opinion.

The real question, that i asking myself is :
"Why giant studio like Epic games don't make himself linux serv files
for
him engine"
(It's nothing to do with icculus or Ryan jobs)

All studios know about importance of linux files...
Why don't planned that from begining

Is it a underground pressure from Micro$$oft ?
Is it that pc game are so weak on market in face to playstation and
other ?

I'm not juging Epic, i'm so confused...
All Unreal Engine games are ported by icculus,
with all respect for Ryan and Icculus, it not a "one man" job and it's
not
make by mistake...

Why ?

We will never know because all parts have (with no doubt) accept a
confidential contracts..
It's a risky little game...

If i was another studio, is so perfect time to start commercial attack
on pc
multiplayers.

Maybe if i was Epic, Ryan, EA or Activision, i make same choice but....
