[cod] and the race begins...

Btw it seems like that the old master server bugs from cod2 have
returned lol...

The more people play, the more are complaining about "awaiting
connection" problems:

Little bit off topic to this list I know, but I think its interesting to
know.

I will get my hands on cod4 tomorrow, then I can test it myself J

IW has stated that Activision contracts the work out to someone (ryan),
so this would leave me to believe they do not have any control over the
matter, but they should still push for it as it is their own creation.

with 805 Windows servers, i'll take a buggy binary as long as it gets my
server name out there. we're all losing out on the
first-come-first-serve traffic that usually determines whether or not
your server is successful.

and the silence.. oh geez the silence.

Indeed it is, Geoff. But remember, this is IW we are talking about
here. And lets be clear. It is NOT Activision's fault. Other games
distributed by ATVI have linux binaries at release or within a day or
so. Not IW. It is always at least a week after and Ryan is pushed by
them to release binaries that really should be beta. This is NOT
intended to be a reflection on Ryan. He does not have sufficient time
to code them properly while IW is screaming at him to release them.
No, I'll be happy if he releases them on the 12th, as long as they are
bug free.
