Hi,
i had the same problem with an cod2server using for LAN, without an internet
connection. I also tried the flag "set_dedicated x" with x=1 -> dedicated &
LAN; x=2 -> dedicated & internet, but nothing changed, same problem.
Don't know why the clients get blocked for about 20min?!
It really sucks, if u want to load another maprotation and than everybody
has to wait about 20min...
MFG

Are you blocking the key check at cod2master.activision.com. This is normal
behavior if the cod2master.activision.com isn't checked.
See your firewall or see where ping cod2master.activision.com ends up..

Subject: [cod] COD2 on Debain 20 minute delay
Hello,
I just setup a Linux dedicate server on Debian Etch. When I fire up the
server it has to run for about 20 minutes before clients can connect.
Doing a packet trace I see the client sending UDP requests about every
second or so. All of a sudden after the server's been running for approx.
20 minutes the clients can connect. After that there's no connection
issues.
When I run strace on the server PID I get the following:
recvfrom(32, 0x85e6880, 131072, 0, 0xafd32510, 0xafd3250c) = -1 EAGAIN
(Resource temporarily unavailable)
gettimeofday({1161182635, 802267}, {240, 0}) = 0
time([1161182635]) = 1161182635
gettimeofday({1161182635, 802474}, NULL) = 0
nanosleep({0, 5000000}, NULL) = 0
select(1, [0], NULL, NULL, {0, 0}) = 0 (Timeout)
recvfrom(32, 0x85e6880, 131072, 0, 0xafd32510, 0xafd3250c) = -1 EAGAIN
(Resource temporarily unavailable)
Can anyone help with this problem?
TIA
