My first suggestion is visit http://www.punksbusted.com. You'll find a 
lot of useful information there. PB is started in the pbsv.cfg file in 
the /pb directory. I have never run across that error. Have you posted a 
trouble ticket with Evenbalance? (http://www.evenbalance.com)
