I use a way,

In linux boxes via iptables like "/sbin/iptables -I INPUT -s
255.255.255.255 -j DROP"
To unban i do "/sbin/iptables -D INPUT -s 255.255.255.255 -j DROP"
255.255.255.255 is obviously the target ip address

Hope it helps

Regards
