[cod] 1.2a patch and connection timeout

Found the problem it was a not resolving of cod2master.activision.com.
tcpdump is your friend. I don't understand why it was working until now but
to be sure put cod2master.activision.com in my hosts file.

Your problem is simple, cod2 1.2a needs to connect to cod2master server in
order to verify the key. Your server is getting timeouts because it isnt
connecting.

You must configure your firewall or/and hosts file in your OS

I don't know I'm the only one but about 2 hours ago people can't connect to
my linux server anymore.. They all get the connection 1.2.3. etc etc. And
then timeout.

 

Before today they could connect..

Now playing around for a while with the 1.2a patch I see only trouble
trouble and more trouble. If this keeps up maybe it is better to go back to
the 1.0 and wait until Ryan gives us the final, because this leaked version
is not that stable.

 

Ryan can you common on this???
