Sure thing... But note I am running the latest 2.6 SMP (recently updated
2.6SMP extra's). (Disregard the "Wont install", I have it blocked so I have
to do manual kernel updates, and darn up2date don't overwrite my 2.6
kernel anytime it feels like it. ;-))
Are you running 2.4 Kernel with or without SMP? I ask because
I had a similar issue on a server with a single CPU RH4 that
I had a similar issue (Just got a sig11 segv). When looking
around the system, I noted I was running the 2.4 Kernel, and
since it was a single CPU Xeon, I upgraded it to the 2.6SMP
kernel. I had no problem after that. (In general, if I have an
issue that pops up, I will make sure I am running the latest
and greatest. So doing this upgrade resolved the problem so
I never went in to sdb to trace it out...
I run the 2.6SMP Kernel on non-Xeon proc's as well.
I have one test box here in my rack at home that is RH9,
and two others running RH 2.4, both are P2.4's (non-xeon)
and I am running 2.6 Kernel on the 2.4ES no probs. (I don't
get xeon advantages of course, but works).
Want to try the upgrade? If not, I can rev back a 2.6SMP kernel
to 2.4 pretty quickly and see if I can get some sort of similar issue
and walk it through sdb debug.....?
Gota get coffee.
Here be the info from one of my systems:
Geez, I think I got to set the time on this puppy.. is is 0922CDT!
