Large maplist prevents the server loading

A customer just set a large maplist which stopped the server from starting
with the following error
"Fatal Error:
Error during initialization:
Attempted to overrun string in call to va()"

Clicking OK does nothing the only thing that can be done is to kill
the server using taskman ( win32 server )
