According to Bell, AWE 2.0 b7 does not include the exploit check.
// Fix map exploits (0 = no, 1 = yes) (default 1)
// NOTE!! NOT INCLUDED IN AWEUO 2.0, hopefully UO 1.51 have fixed all exploits
set awe_fix_map_exploits "0"
I have posted in the forums there to ask if this is true. If so, then it is a
patch problem.

That's probably a script that a mod you're running such as AWEUO is calling.
The updated AWEUO 2.0 (currently still in beta), has taken the
_exploit_blocker script out, they assumed that Grey Matter fixed the maps.
