I have learned in past that a machine becomes laggy once you hit use more memory then the machine has (When th swapping really begins).
I for example have a AMD64 3000+ with 1 GB Memory.
I am currently running 4x Sof2 Servers on it (Today I added one coduo ;)).
Till yet, it worked perfectly. I managed it to get on server full with approx 40 players some days ago and I were watching the CPU usage with TOP. Well the sof2ded process was consuming approx 25-35% of cpu usage.
Memory usage is fin, swap stays always below 10 MB and I think this is an important point.
So you can run multiple servers (5-6) with 16-32 slots as long as the machine doesn't start swapping.
Regards,
Delta (ray) ;)
