Here's a list of small sites they "handed" the 1.2 files too. They don't
look small to me. Well at least you can grab the 1.3 from one of them to
host for yourself on your big site.

Call of DutyT Linux Multiplayer Server Code Version 1.2

Description:

These are the Linux dedicated server binaries for Call of Duty, updated to
work with version 1.2 of the Windows client. There are two packages
available for download, but admins will only need to download one of them.
Please read the description for each to determine which one you need.

The "small" version contains an xdelta binary patch file, which requires the
use of the xdelta 3rd party program to properly extract and update the
pak0.pk3 file:

Filename: COD-lnxded-1.2.small.tar.bz2

Filesize: 1,892KB

The "large" version contains all the proper binaries along with an updated
pak0.pk3 file:

Filename: COD-lnxded-1.2.large.tar.bz2

Filesize: 160,922KB

The full list of changes, as well as installation instructions, can be found
here.

Apparently activision handed out the file to the smallest of the sites the
last time and not one of the biggest community :( so of course this is
gonna happen if the file's given out to small sites, they'd do things to
get attention and this could be one of the things. But they didn't do a
good job as I was not aware of the patch leak until I read this email :) I
hope Activision will be selective on mirrors but will mirror to only the
sites that have proven something already. I hope they choose me, the last
time the patch came out it was downloaded about 3,000 times and the beta
1.3 was downloaded about 1,800 times. It does consume a lot of bandwidth
but it's worthit of the community.
