We were moving to a new ISP, having outgrown the T-1 line at the Unreal
Developer Network, and that required getting a real rackmount server
(instead of a old tower case). Since everything else was changing, I
figured this would be a good time to move away from Slackware, since it is
non-trivial to keep the three year-old installation up to date.

Basically, it was like one of those Extreme Makeover shows, but with 
computers instead of people.

i.o is actually somewhat like a professional setup now, which was long 
overdue.
