PB automaticly updates when everbalance sends new punkbuster on PB master servers... you can't control that.... but if you have constant lag then you have some other problem....

Where is the setting to determine how often PB updates?
This lag is happening on a full 16 player server.
Thanks,
Neil

only lag i had on clan server (16 slot) was when PB was updating.... but i found out also that on public server with 30 people, TDM, 1.4 and PB on now lags from time to time... on 1.3 there was no such problems....

Since loading PB on our TDM server yesterday, I've been noticing 3-5 lag bursts which had not happened before. Anyone else experiencing these problems? And if so did you resolve it somehow?
Thanks for the help in advance.
Neil

I found this great forum topic at IW nation.
It is a workaround for enabling PB
Here is the link
http://www.iwnation.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=6962&st=25&#entry60806
do exactly as he wrote and it works.
You only have to create the autoexec_mp.cfg
And enter two or three lines in your server.cfg file
I also used his puinkbuster settings as well although I changed some settings

Setting sv_punkbuster to 1 does nothing for me. If PB was enable (using pb_sv_enable) is stays enabled, if the server was just converted and you set sv_punkbuster to 1, PB stays disabled. I was putting it in the config file. Does it need to go into the command line startup? I'm probably missing something here, but I'm not sure...
Thanks!

You should set the cvar on start up, that's just a console command toenable it. Wednesday, April 21, 2004, 3:34:40 AM, you wrote: Does that work also? Instead of using pb_sv_enable ...
