If fixing bugs means stopping cheaters....take your time...
We BARELY play anymore because of the cheating little punks. I'll put the
game on hold for two months if, when I come back, the lil cheating pr1cks
can no longer harsh my buzz...if you get my drift.

When we develop a patch, almost half of time time is spent fixing up
little bugs that the test labs find. Client bugs would ruin the show

there are no clients available.
That's the situation, try to live with it.

Yes i heard about it .. Yes.. But 2 month is much time ...
Too much time
for this buisness, and too much time for providers, which only host on
linux.

Err.. have you heard the term "Quality Assurance", or perhaps "Testing
lab"?

Ok, Andreas, let me say what I´m thinking about it:
1. Don´t do anymore bugfixes on Win32-Structure, only if

it´s in the

client, not the server 2. Release 1.4 now!
Linux-Provider are getting in very hard discussion with there
customers.
We only can say that DICE isn´t able to fix that now, and that we´re
waiting for 2 month now on a patch. Come on, tell your
managers that we
can´t wait anymore, not for this terrible Win32-Server. We need the
Linux-Version and I think most servers will run on a
Linux-Maschine, not
on a Win32, just because of the scriptings and some other

automatism,

the higher costs on Win2kServer-License and many other things like
security.
It´s very hard to see, that many customers getting angry just
because of
the ugly lagging servers in v. 1.3.1 on linux-machines. We´ve best
hardware-conditions, best uplinks on european networks and

we won´t be

able to set up this game-service without having trouble
because of lags
within the software.
GET IT OUT NOW, NOT TOMORROW!

Hi,
we're getting there. The patch has grown a bit to

I know you are bound to non-disclosure by the dice release
manager; and I
know why the 1.4 isn't out yet (a few last win32 bugs), but
another friday
has passed, another week no patch. My superior has given me

a deadline

concerning our battlefield server section so I'm getting
pretty desperate.

the amount

give an order

as to when we can expect it? The reason I ask this is simple
: if you say
for instance : chances are pretty big we won't be able to
release the 1.4
patch before the summer holiday's (july here ;) ), then I
would like to
know now so I can suggest the alternative Wine/windows server
combination.
If, on the other hand, it is only a matter of at most a few
weeks, I can
still be patient for a little while longer and hope and pray :)
Don't get me wrong, you are undoubtedly doing a great job and I
appreciate the updates which make this list worth while,

but I have

our servers.
So even the vaguest, unofficial, smallest hint, preferrably
expressed in a
real timeframe (not very very very soon ;) ), would mean a
lot to me, and
undoubtedly many others on this list.
