game.serverIP 213.133.xxx.xxx

Is it supposed to give me more output?
I was kinda exspecting more logging activity!
I can not see the Server with any tool, i have to join it directly by
entering the ip and by pressing "join".
To add the server in the BF Client does not work.

And where can i get all the argument options from?

Cheers, Mario

I just played on my first linux 1.4 server at Nateos linux
bf1942-1.4|45ms|213.186.35.63:14567

The chopiness is gone, but it is even less playable than before, the bungee
effect is back times 10.
It could be only on that server though so I'll doublecheck it on another
one.

I'll keep the list posted

Subject: [bf1942] CPU usage in 1.4

It seems that the server cpu usage under Linux has basically doubled
since the last version. My server is an Athlon 2600 with 1GB of ram, and
previously, 20 players would cause it to hit about 32% cpu use. Now at
20 players, it's running at almost exactly 64%.

Anyone else noticing this?

James

Having issues with DC 1.35e and 1.4, I updated the client to 1.4, server
is OpenBeta 1.4, start the game up, little progress bar moves over to
the right, when it completes the client crashes... Server stays up.

took ages to bind the port.

Im using the static binary FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE
qstat -gps dev1:23000
ADDRESS PLAYERS MAP RESPONSE TIME NAME
dev1:23000 0/24 battleaxe 28 / 0 conquest

Nice, it started and is running now without a hitch.

The only issue I have with it right now is that the pretty curses
interface doesn't respect my term size (which is bigger than the 80x25
or whatever section it uses).

Great work, Andreas.. thanks!

no more "wine BF1942.exe +game BF1942 +restart 1 +dedicated 1 +hostServer 1 +config ServerSettings.con" for me!

Someone may have already requested, if so I apologize...
The new console is pretty awesome!

It would be great if there was a way to see the chat stream in it, and I
guess enable/disbale that and other event messages too... That way you could
chat to people from there while you are messin with the server.

thanks!

Make sure the Content Control is turned off on the server or this will
happen. I've had friends Crash to desktop, and some just get the "Data
differs from server". After setting content control to 0 everyone
connected fine.

Having issues with DC 1.35e and 1.4, I updated the client to 1.4, server
is OpenBeta 1.4, start the game up, little progress bar moves over to
the right, when it completes the client crashes... Server stays up.

Nope its working here now as far as I can tell without the client, just
took ages to bind the port.

Im using the static binary FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE
qstat -gps dev1:23000
ADDRESS PLAYERS MAP RESPONSE TIME NAME
dev1:23000 0/24 battleaxe 28 / 0 conquest

Nice 1 Andreas we love you :D

Subject: [bf1942] IP Prioritizing

Here is my thing, i want to run a server on a lan that is publicly
accessible, and when the server is full i want somebody from the internet
side to get kicked so that the lan guy can join, basically IP address
prioritaztion.

would it be possible to implement such a thing? just kick the guy w/ the
highest ping, or the last internet person to join gets kicked to make room
for the guy tahts on the lan.
i know this was possible in CS becuz a fwe lan gaming places i know of did
it, would it be a possible addtion to the BF server?

Thx
Andrew

Subject: [bf1942] restart abnormalities?

has anyone else noticed the lag from when you type in 'admin.changeMap
<map>' and when the server actually changes? I have a couple of new
admins that would just hammer the mapchanges because it doesn't "do"
anything, confirmation or not. (note, I know it changes the mapname after
the map changes)

Thanks

Subject: [bf1942] 1.4 and DC

Hello all. I seem to be running smoothly so far. I even have it running
DC, but who knows if people can actually play it. Anyone tried DC since the
client is now out? Being at work I can't connect and test it.

Link to client files if anyone needs em. :)
