untar linux server files?

Hey All,

I bet this has been asked before but I missed it (or maybe I am just an
ignoramus heh heh). But, I have downloaded the latest Linux server for
BF2. The file name is bf2-linuxded-1.1.2963-795-installer.sh.gz

Ok. So, I cant seem to untar it - keep getting 'tar: This does not look
like a tar archive'. I have downloaded the file from several sites
thinking my copy was corrupt - but I keep getting the same results. I also
tried just renaming the file to .sh thinking it was named incorrectly.
Nada.

What am I missing?
