XP Home support 1/2 CPU
XP Pro support 2/4
2k3 stantard (.net) support 4/8
2k3 star trek enteprise support 8/16
2k3 media center edition support 16/32

x/y = physical cpu/logical cpu
Most of the linux distros support 32 physical cpu.

I think dual core cpu's are threaded as 1/2

Ok, back to this subject again.

how much difference does 200MHz do if I go from 275 to 280?

And how much memory does each server consume? Is 3 GB enough to handle 4
servers?

If so, I can remove some memory and go for a better CPU. I dont want to
put myself in a possition where the server cant host the games.

Also, I am thinking of running Windows 2003 Server. Are there any special
version I need while I am going with Dual DualCore Opterons or can the
stock win2003server handle all "4" CPUs?
