Depending on the version of top, you should be able to hit '1' and it
will break it down by cpu, like this:

top - 16:58:31 up 239 days, 6:46, 1 user, load average: 2.12, 2.10, 2.00
Tasks: 85 total, 4 running, 81 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
  Cpu0 : 50.0% us, 0.3% sy, 0.0% ni, 49.0% id, 0.0% wa, 0.0% hi,
0.7% si
  Cpu1 : 45.4% us, 1.3% sy, 0.0% ni, 50.3% id, 0.0% wa, 0.3% hi,
2.6% si
Mem: 2058416k total, 2004056k used, 54360k free, 203104k buffers
Swap: 1076344k total, 0k used, 1076344k free, 996960k cached
