But are you talking about client side? I'm talking server side.. so 
admins in game can do "rcon <aliased command here>" instead of having to 
type out the full command. That's how it worked in bf1942 anyway.

I've created an aliasedcommands.con in the settings folder, so we'll see 
if that works.. however, as I said before, trying to set an alias from 
the console results in an error (which didn't happen in bf1942).
