Hello,
People on this list seem to be getting exactly the same issue when
running 32-bit linux-servers. When they turned of punkbuster the
problems dissapeared. Could you please try turning it of on your
windows-server as well to see if the problems disappear?
Thanks for your input!

Subject: [bf1942] BF2 demo: Random freezing
Hi folks,
I am running two Windows and three Linux BF2 Demo servers.
I am seeing a weird issue with the Windows servers, where every 3~10
minutes all clients in the game get the message "There is a problem with
your connection" for about 3 seconds. The Linux servers are identical
hardware and on the same network, and do not get this problem.
If I log into one of the Windows servers with TSC and watch Task Manager
while playing, when the clients freeze up I can see the CPU usage on the
server drops to 0% for the duration of the freeze, then jumps back to
where it was. It's clearly not a network issue as I can see the task
manager graph updating while it happens.
I have tried running BF2 as a regular application in a terminal session
and also as a service using Firedaemon. Same story both ways. The
windows boxes are running Windows 2000 Server SP4.
I've run other games on these boxes before and not had any problems, so
I can only assume it's something wrong with BF2. Has anybody else seen
this - any ideas?
tia
