[bf1942] Are you using the 64-bit server much?

I'd say its more to do with the fact that there was no real improvement
in performance ( at least when we last tried it ) and without any
significant gains people are not going to increase the support
overhead required by the transition to a 64bit OS.

The figures we saw where:
1. a 32bit linux server requires 10% more CPU then a windows one
2. a 64bit linux server requires 5% more CPU than a 32bit linux one.

This really pains me to say but with those figures we have had no
option but to put 95% of our servers on windows :(

On the same logic if we saw the linux 64bit server outperforming
the 32bit windows one by 10% we would look to moving all our
servers back to linux.

Hello folks,

We had a discussion here at the office today, someone had heard that the
64-bit server is not used much, this because of the server being buggy.

Is this so? Even for the 1.02 (1.1.2484.0) patch?

If so, what kind of troubles are you experiencing? Does punkbuster still
have issues on the 64-bit server maybe?
