No, I don't think this model will be the model of choice.  Look at all the 
pissed off
people.  Ranked admins don't appear to be pulling in the dough either!

I think the model will die, as I believe most other companies
outside of EA has hired from above where EA hires their marketing
people, which is clearly the selection at the bottom of the tank.

They lack vision and Insight IMHO.  I suspect they are the people
the large motion picture companies fired when they realized that
DVD distribution was going to be a boon to their industry, not the
death they predicted.  Likely SAT's of under 700, and they all have
MBA's.  Yup, sounds like the credentials. ;-))
