As Paul said, you might not get the correct version that way.  The CVS
version will report itself as 2.8 (which is what threw me earlier).  Do
you have gs3 support?  Also, I posted a couple of patches from Procyon
on the qstat-users list which are useful when working with gs2/gs3.
