FYI:
Yesterday i downloaded and installed
http://bfvietnam.lightcubed.com/dist/bfv_linded-v1.0-20040314.2319.run
Successfully, my setup:
Pentium II 350MHz
256MB SD-RAM
4GB IDE
FreeBSD-5.2.1
All i had to do to get it running:
- add linux compatibility to the FBSD kernel
- install linux_base-7.1_7 from the ports
- fix the install-script, it defaults to "/tmp" to unpack the whole package
before installation,
but there wasn't enough space, so i created a "/usr/local/tmp" and
everything went well.
- made a symlink to the static binary as described in the docs
Although the machine has got lousy hardware specs, it runs quite fine! The
line it's attached to is a
4096/640kbps ADSL connection, so i think 6-8 players are reasonable. Tested
yesterday with 3 players
and 5 bots, running smoothly.
Surprisingly..
