Peter: What about GLIBC <= 2.2?

Ok, just my two cents...

- Many ppl still have servers with glibc <= 2.2 (at least I think so)
- Many of these ppl don't have any clue on how to update this correctly (as
I am)
- Some of them (or should I say most?) are having a public server "for
fun"...

If the BF:V-server is "based" on BF1942 V1.5, where exactly is the problem
to make it compatible to the older compilers?

I know I'm just a guy who is running his BF1942-server "for fun", but I
think there are many of us out there.

It is one of the greatest games I ever saw (despite the missing linux-server
in the beginning :), but not all of us are willing (or able) to update the
"core" of their servers just because a new version (let's face it: It is
just an update... :) came out.

Yeah, "we" don't know how to do it, but that doesn't make a big
difference... ;)

A few days ago, I installed the UT2004-(demo)server on my machine. Worked
without even one problem... Even CoD worked... Am I missing something?

Cheers,
Martin

by ./bfv_linded)
./bfv_linded: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3' not found (required
