I would probably agree if BF:V was just a BF1942 Mod, but it is my
impression that with BF:V we also get an upgraded Engine (I am especially
looking forward to a revamped sound engine) and what not..
I would be surprised (and disappointed) if BF:V just ended up a BF1942 Mod
with a few tweaks..
Ofcourse I still hope they stay true to the BF1942 gameplay style..
UnrealT 2k3 alienated some of its playerbase because they changed the play
style away from the original Unreal Tournament..
It's a tricky business and I guess time will tell..

I gotta say I've asked myself the exact same thing, especially after
spending an excellent night playing EOD, and noticing the level of
professional modelling, texturing, map making, balancing and testing
that has obviously gone into this mod.
And after all, EOD is completely free...
I guess we'll have to wait and see what DICE have up their sleeve...
