Just run the handy script provided to lowercase all filenames in the tree.

AHHH haa! Thank you. Of course. I was taking that line to be a pointer back to the maplist, but it is actually the full "command and arguments" for whichever map is going to be loaded. THat did it, now on to the next error:

  /home/bf1942/bf1942/start.sh: using statically linked binary
Fatal error: Level init.con file not found: bf1942/levels/DC_Battle_of73_Easting/Init.con

This is usually caused by a missing map.

Please make sure the level exists and is spelled correctly in maplist.con.
For Linux servers also make sure all paths are lower-case.

I believe I have to lower case the names of all the maps in the maplist now !! arrgh... closer tho.
hmmm now what is that emacs command to lowercase a region?,.....

Look at the last line. You forgot the gameplay mode and the type of mod.

I get this error every time... I simply copied the desertcombat mod directory from my 1.5 tree into the new one. It appears fine.. Anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong?
