[bf1942] not appearing in gamespy/ingame browser sporadicalysince 1.6?

Hmmmm.....

These were stripped from the thread, but here are the relevant settings
(below at the end)...
I have been using the GS and ASE ports at 0 (letting bf1942 choose the
defaults) and that has worked fine for ages.
Apparently, I would have to upgrade to RH 9.0 in order to get those libs, or
would I be able to put them locally in my path (just to test to see...)?
