[bf1942] XML Event Logging

Ooh, yes, that's a good one--logging movement of "mobile" standpoints
would really help!

I'm working on finishing up a "kill map" feature for my stats system,
and just thought of another thing that would be really nice to have in
the XML logs: right now, the only way to tell what the X/Y/Z map scales
and X/Z offsets are for a map is to take apart the appropriate RFA file
and look for any of the (at least) four different directives that can
affect them, contained in two different .con files. . . quite a chore!
I've already done that now for all the maps in the major mods (i.e. the
mods I like to play), but every time a new map or mod comes out, you
have to do the whole unpleasant process again.

It would be really helpful if there were some bf:setting tags in the
bf:server structure that specified what the X/Y/Z scales and offsets
were for the map being played. Yes, if you want to make a "kill map"
you still have to open up the RFA to get a copy of the map image, but
you could do other useful things, such as compute average ranges of
kills (which you can't do without knowing the map scales), even if you
didn't have an image of the map available.

Thanks,

Forrest said almost everything, one thing I'm missing is the
heli-pickups.
It's incredibly helpful for your team if you have a good helo-pilot,
which
takes i.e. the mobile-spawnpoint and drops it somewhere. Or, for the
other
side, it is not logged, if a player takes a spawnpoint and places it
somewhere else (or, I haven't seen it until now, blame me then...). So
this
would be another point to indicate a "good team-player"... :)

For those who don't know already, I've taken over the dedicated server
duties from Peter (dpc).
I've begun work on updating the XML Event Logging, and I've started to
rework some of the events, since BFV is a bit different than '42. :)
It occurred to me that I probably wouldn't think of everything, and
since
the admin population in the studio approaches zero, I'd post a request
for
events. So, what's missing?
Note that I will take all requests as just that... requests. Some ideas
may
be difficult and/or impossible to put in place in the time I have
alloted.
Cheers,
  Andy.
