[bf1942] An Open Letter to the BF1942 Community

As I have just mentioned in my forums, my actions should not be
interpreted as an "extortion" attempt against DICE. I told them up front
that I was planning to stop working on these utils before giving them
the two options I described in my open letter to the community. They
declined my offer anyway.

I obviously realise that by stopping work on these utils BF admins will
suffer. What you must realise is that I did this work voluntarily and I
am under no obligation to do so in the future or to release my source
code.

It's unfortunate that DICE did not pick up the ball and run with it. I
believe this decision is going to hurt them in the long run but they're
not fools so I can only presume they have an equal or better solution to
BF's admin problems in mind.

At least I hope they do for your sake and the sake of all BF admins out
there.

Kevin

hope something can be worked out there eg open source it or get some
other trusted people to work on it
