Some of these (particularly this one) should be vetoable from the server. The
visual hacks like no-fog are pure-client because the client is "trusted" to do
all rendering, and the best you can do for those is periodic CRC checking. And
even that is vulnerable since the CRC check is done on the client. You'd need
some kind of public-key-based challenge-response system with a changing random
challenge.

Ideally EA/DICE should just license PunkBuster, and offload that whole
development path. It doesn't sound like they have the internal resources
available for this.
