Also, as sad as it is look at the life span of the games these days.  I
doubt they're worried about the longevity because in a year they'll have
another good title to replace it.

I agree, dev support of a game is excellent (Look at Valve and HalfLife, the
game's 4-ish years old and still heavily supported... Eric from Valve is a
regular on the linux mailing list and they're still churning out new
features and updates) but high turnover rate in favor of the next popular
game seems to be EA's running bet.  I just wouldn't expect much to be done
in regards to the petition.  Would probably take many, many thousands more
signatures before anyone with any amount of clout at EA even noticed it.
