Here's an start|stop|status script we use for all our game servers.

do the debian thing, for sure.  We need standards, though, for each
package.  Obviously, we need the binaries and everything that's in the
current tarball.  Do we include mods?  Anybody already have a
start|stop|check /etc/init.d?  If not, I'll go ahead and see if I can
compose one from scratch, using the methods we've already described.
Being new, I don't want to step on toes. :)  Anyone else?  If not, I'll
start work later.
