Trouble connecting to server

Hi all, apolgies if this is answered somewhere already.

I cannot connect to the linux server. I have install the 1.3beta from
the 10/2 and the update from the 23/2. 

I have tried setting the server IP to 0.0.0.0 and to its proper IP
address. I get a failed to connect from the client. I have a password on
the server it asks for that and complains if it is wrong or I get failed
to connect if password is correct.

Client is 1.31.

I am just starting the server with ./bf1942_lnxded

Any ideas anyone?
