[bf1942] chown on start?

Oh, you meant chmod, not chown, then...
Have you tried just setting the umask to 002?
I wouldn't think that bf1942_lnxded would purposefully change
permissions from the default, so just doing a 'umask 002' before
starting it should have the desired effect.
Let me know what happens
