you shouldnt need to make any adjustments to any files in any dir. as long
as your dir structure looks like this;
[game at okapi bf1942_01]$ tree -d
.
|-- MultiplayerServers
`-- mods
|-- BF1942
| |-- Archives
| | `-- Bf1942
| | `-- Levels
| |-- Logs
| `-- Settings
| |-- Default
| | `-- Controls
| `-- Profiles
| |-- Custom
| `-- Default
`-- Desert_Combat
|-- Archives
| `-- bf1942
| `-- levels
|-- Movies
`-- Music
19 directories
then you should be ok. all i done was copied the /Desert_Combat dir from my
win machine into the /mods/ dir on linux machine.( exacty the same place on
both machines ) Start the game how u described ./bf1942_linuxded +game
desert_combat
voila.. Hope u get it sorted its a great mod.

Subject: [bf1942] Desert Combat
Just wondering if anyone has succeeded in getting Desert Combat to run with
the Linux server?
I may have missed something but this is essentially what I have done:
Zipped up the Mods/Desert_Combat folder from a windows machine, and unzipped
into bf1942/mods/ on the Linux bf1942 server.
Added the "+game Desert_Combat" argument to the command line.
I'm using the latest beta (18th.Jan). The system plays fine (definition of
fine here - it runs, and people can connect) with normal bf1942, but
currently people are getting corrupt files messages, when attempting to run
the mod with the procedure above. The system is a duel p3-800 with gig
memory, running Debian 3.0 with the 2.4 kernel.
I am guessing that I need to make some small changes to the
mods/BF1942/Settings/ServerSettings.con file or something?
Thanks for your time.
