Although you may consider dynamic IP address = Dial-up, I'm not sure how
many others do.

Static IP address and Dynamic IP address is the common term when your
talking about an ip address that stays the same, and one that can
change.

Either way, banning by a hash of the CD Key is really handy since you
know that you banned that person, and the next guy who gets his IP won't
be banned too. You also don't need to worry about banning subnets.

HL, Q3, RTCW can all ban by a hash of the cd key (q3/rtcw through
punkbuster).

Having a hash of the CD Key is also really handy for telling if someone
really is someone. You can check through the logs to see if someone
with that hash has already connected in the past. Many leagues also use
hashs of the cd keys to try and stop people from ringing during matches.

It's a nice feature that I'm sure would be used, but it's alot lower on
the feature list then "stable server" so we should all do what we can to
help ryan get the server rock solid before we worry about stuff like
this. Also, ryan's contract may not include adding features, so it may
be out of his hands.
