You need the full base install first, then the latest patch can be
installed over the base. Get the base install here

ftp://ftp.ea.com/ftproot/pub/ea/eagames/patches/bf1942/bf1942-lnxded-1.2
beta1.tar.bz2

Yes, you can use "screen".

thats it?

When I get into the mods directory there is no serversettings.con
or any files at all.

So I don't need any other files?

Can someone list what the dirs should contain?

Do you know if you can use screen instead of &?

cheers

Zach

nohup ./bf1942_lnxded &

Using the "nohup" will log the servers starting progress to a file, and
using the "&" will start the server in a background process.

Can somone give me a quick rundown on the linux dedicated server
install.
I have unzipped and untarred the package but then have only the
following files and directories:

bf1942_lnxded
mods
MultiplayerServers
README-bf1942-lnxded.txt

Where to from here?
Do I need to move any files from the bf1942 cd's?

thanks for the help.

Zach
