I am thinking that he might have installed just a patch if he has only those
directories.

Your serversettings.con will be in mods/BF1942/Settings. I couldn't imagine
why screen wouldn't work.

thats it?

When I get into the mods directory there is no serversettings.con
or any files at all.

So I don't need any other files?

Can someone list what the dirs should contain?

Do you know if you can use screen instead of &?

cheers

Zach

nohup ./bf1942_lnxded &

Using the "nohup" will log the servers starting progress to a
file, and using the "&" will start the server in a background process.

Can somone give me a quick rundown on the linux
dedicated server install.
I have unzipped and untarred the package but then have
only the following files and directories:

bf1942_lnxded
mods
MultiplayerServers
README-bf1942-lnxded.txt

Where to from here?
Do I need to move any files from the bf1942 cd's?

thanks for the help.

Zach
