What?

Before I found the linux 1.2 beta by accident I ran my server on Windows,
and I have NEVER had a cd in that computer.
If you run the server on windows you just download the standalone server
that is available on the offical bf1942 website.

Just like i.e. the cs standalone for windows, the bf standalone for windows
is built in the client-version (so you can run a server from your own
computer without having to download a server). But in the standalone all the
files for starting the game as a client has been removed from the
installation file, if you needed to have a cd in your windows-server you
must have made some major errors somewhere since mine worked without ever
having a cd-rom installed.
