why not?

i mean, i agree we should be supportive of ryan, and also patient, so as
to not make things harder for him.

but that's ryan.

i don't think we should treat DiCE or EA with the same courtesy/

i think as consumers, and potential promoters of their game, DiCE and EA
should be way more supportive of the linux port of bf1942. as many people
have pointed out, a stable linux bf1942 server will go a long way to
further "selling" and promoting bf1942.

and the only way to get things in life is make a lot of noise.

so while we support and cheer on ryan. i think it's important we have a
forum (this list) to discuss our issues, complain about the overall
process, and think of ways we can pressure people at DiCE and EA to get
their acts together and actually support the further proliferation of
their game.

i think that given all the money they will make on this game, they have a
responsibility to financially support the stable development of a linux
port. especiallyl given that in the long run, it will only help sell more
games.

i think it would be in our best interests to find further ways to embarass
EA and force them to actually start treating their own gaming community
with a bit more respect.

earlier we had discussed a petittion (whatever happened to that?), but
what other options do we have? phone calls to some executive who can then
break open the can of whip-ass to get things done? or maybe via the media?
heck, even getting a statement posted on one of the bf1942 news sites
might help.

i mean those bf1942 news sites announce latest releases of the linux
server. why not announce the frustration of the linux bf1942 community?
that we're frustrated that ryan is not getting more support, financial and
otherwise, to get this job finished!
